Many Aston Villa fans likely will have taken a draw against Leicester City in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, if they had been offered it before the game.

However, fans weren’t completely happy when asked for their thoughts following the game’s culmination.
That is because they were unhappy with the performances provided by midfield duo Marvelous Nakamba and Douglas Luiz, with one fan stating “Danny Drinkwater will stroll into that midfield”.

The Brazilian is likely the one who was the biggest culprit, as it was he who was dispossessed by Hamza Choudhury to start the move that led to Leicester’s equaliser. He also got the worst rating of any player on the pitch from SofaScore, with just 5.5.
Nakamba almost suffered a similar fate, but Jamie Vardy was unable to capitalise when the Zimbabwean headed the ball past Tyrone Mings and into his path.
What makes this feel even more frustrating for some of those fans, is that they think this has put a bit of a dampener on what was a big performance and result for the team.
Some fans referred to this as a “great result against stellar opposition” and a “huge step forward”, indicating how well they thought the collective performed.
However, that hasn’t prevented them returning to just how poor the Villa midfielders were during the game.
Meanwhile, Villa fans have raged over transfer links with a Premier League striker.
